Currently I’m (November)……

So I have been MIA for a while on this space where I place my thoughts, feeling, cooking and crafting ideas. I have had LOTS of schoolwork to get done. I know, I know it was what I said last month. I seem to get ahead then fall behind. I am now getting to the point where I am ahead and I am so excited to share all the fun and exciting crafts and recipes I have in the works.

So for the month of November currently I am……..

…..watching I most recently have been watching whatever I can find on my TV. I have enjoied having MTV and The Learning Channel back on our TV. I tend to always have something playing in the background.

….trying to figure out what is important to me and how I can get rid of some of the eggs I have in SEVERAL baskets. I sometimes feel like I am so overwhelmed but I think it is because I just have so much going on at one time.

……eating nothing. I am getting reading to go work out and don’t want to get sick. I did however just eat some YUMMY milk duds! (Leftover Halloween candy)

Milk duds

….pinning holiday related! I love this time of year and can’t wait to have time off to do all the fun crafts I have planned.

……tweeting all of my recent blog and Instagram posts. I also have been following @whenisnap_time she is a great friend and fellow blogger!

……going to be heading to bed soon so I can get up and do it all over again tomorrow!

……loving life in general. I am planning a wedding and I have wonderful friends.

……discovering all that God has to offer when diving deeper into the Bible.

……enjoying the feeling of a good workout. Muscles feel tight but not sore!

…thinking about my good friend and her baby. Saying a sweet prayer for safety.

……feeling grateful for all the wonderful blessing in my life.

….listening to the TV in the background as finish up this much needed blog post.

……thanking  God for all of the good that is in my life. Along with the good comes the bad. I just have to remain whole in him and stay positive and thankful. I am thankful for  my sweet nephew!

……starting to remember how much I enjoy blogging and how much I wish it was my full time job.

Day Twenty-Three: Phoenix Restaurants

Brave Love Blog

Day 23: A guide to your city! Share some of the hot-spots and hidden gems of where you live.

I love my city! I thought instead of sharing maybe hidden gem places I would share about my top favorite restaurants (in honor of restaurant week) in the Valley of the Sun. Check out the list of places to go this week for a great deal on your food in Phoenix!

1) Culinary Dropout- I went to this restaurant for the first time about two years ago. They have an awesome laid back eclectic atmosphere. I love going there and ordering the cheese fondue with pretzel bites, it is one of my favorites. They have GREAT food and if you are ever in the Phoenix area I would highly recommend this place to eat!grocery-new-home

2) La Grande Orange– I love this restaurant they serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. I have taken Sister 4 there several times. We like to get a sandwich and salad then share. There is a small shop attached. They also have a large selection of bakery items and a coffee bar. I really have never had anything I have not liked from this place. If you are looking for a more natural lunch I would highly recommend checking out La Grande Orange.

3) The Original Chop Shop– So the story behind this restaurant is that I was out and about in downtown Chandler, AZ and I remember seeing several people that I follow on Instagram posting picture of this place and getting really excited for the new location. Come to find out the new location is in Chandler. I was so excited to have found it randomly I had it for lunch twice that week. I LOVE their bowls. They use very fresh and healthy ingredients in all their meals. I also discovered that they make seasonal flavored lemonade that is to die for. They currently have two locations and I would highly suggest if you’re in the area of either try it out! It is WONDERFUL FOOD!

4) Postino- If you are a wine drinker this is the place for YOU! I went there for a going away party for the first time. I was told to order a good quality wine, which they carry, MANY wines. I was also informed that their food was also good. Especially their bruschetta. So I HAD to try it out. You get to pick a mix of different bruschetta’s to try. They are all amazing and I would have never thought to put the flavors together that they did. If you are looking for a nice relaxing place to enjoy a glass of wine and some tapas I would HIGHLY suggest Postino’s.

5) Joe’s Farm Grill- Last but certainly not least is JOE’S. I LOVE this restaurant. I started a tradition about 2 years ago that every year for my birthday I go here for lunch. I love that half of the seating for the restaurant is outside. Being that my birthday is in the spring the weather is staring to become nice. If you visit Joe’s restaurant on your birthday they will take 10 dollars off of your meal total. They have a farm near-by where they obtain much of their food that they put in the meals. It is a great place to take the family and enjoy the picnic like atmosphere.

Day Twenty-Two: 5 Inspirational Bloggers

Brave Love Blog

Day 22: Introduce us to 5 blogs you read on the regular, and tell us why!

    1. When is Nap Time?- I frequently check out this blog to see what my good friend and her kiddos are up to. My good friend Amber and I have been learning about blogging together. She says I was her inspiration but I think we both are inspiring each other. I hope one day that I am as good of a mother as she is to her two sweet boys. I am so excited and proud of the work that she is doing and publishing on her blog. If you have young kids check out her blog she is starting a Kids Craft Friday posting.Family-Photos-California-Summer-2014-3
    2. Apples to Ziti– Growing up I had a great friend named Jenna. She then went off to college out of state and got married to the love of her life. She and her husband then started a family and they are now up to three kids. They have such a beautiful family. Jenna decided to start her bolg to cook her way through the alphabet starting with the letter “A” and cooking all the way through letter “z.” Jenna also shares about her loves and what the latest update is on her littles. If you are looking for some great recipes be sure to check out her blog!headshot
    3. Diary of an Addict- I check this blog out at least every other day so excited to see what she will post. I stumbled across this blog before I started up my blog. She has such a sweet family and lives in California. I am so excited and honored to say that I receive mentoring sessions with this amazing lady. I have talked with her twice and have loved my time with her. She is such a sweet and caring woman. I hope one day I will get to meet her at a blogging conference. If you love to cook, know about fitness and family. You will love her blog! Go check it out!BlogBio-01_zps36bd4aab
    4. Sew Caroline– Sew Caroline is another blog that I stumbled upon randomly. I have been following Sew Caroline’s journey for the past year as she has sewn many awesome garments, made her own line of fabric and has published patterns. I love to sew and in reading how she came about learning to sew I have hope and faith that even though I am not the best at sewing that I can make great garments. Be sure to be on the look out for my kimono that I made using Sew Caroline’s awesome pattern. I hope one day I get to meet her at a blogging/crafting conference. July_profile_photo
    5. Gussy Sews-Last but certainly not least Gussy Sews. I LOVE her blog. I feel so inspired after reading her blog. I connected with her instantly through her writing. She is a Midwest girl who got a sewing machine for Christmas and learned to sew through the Internet and self-discovery. She then traveled to Africa (bucket list task for me) with her husband. Once home they found out they were expecting their first along with moving to the west coast. She is now getting ready to have her second baby and is still blogging and maintaining her small sewing business on the side. She is quite the inspiration for me and I would LOVE to meet her in person one day. Be sure to check out her AWESOME blog!

Day Eighteen: Berlin, Gemany

Brave Love Blog

Day 18: Tell a tale of traveling, a city or country you’ve been to or a favorite vacation.

This is one of my favorite prompts for this blog-tember challenge. When I was in college I decided that I would apply to student teach overseas. When it came time for me to apply I really wanted to go to Italy. I was one of about 10 teachers that were picked to participate in Department of Defense Student teaching program. I traveled to Vilseck, Germany with another student from my college and we lived, traveled and taught for 5 months while we were there. I meet so many amazing people and I traveled to many amazing cities. When I talk to people about my time over there I always tell people to visit ONE city.

BERLINBerlin 068

While student teaching my roommate and I traveled with a teacher to the AWESOME city of Berlin to go to a concert. Once my student teaching was done my mom came to Germany and we traveled for a week. One of the cities I wanted to revisit was BERLIN. I figured my mom would enjoy the city also. There is so much history there and the architecture is so amazing. I love student teaching in Germany! I would recommend that if you ever get to travel to Germany stop by Berlin. I think pictures are awesome and have documented my trip. I will leave you will some picture from my trip to Berlin with my mom.

Day Sixteen: Glass Half Full!

Brave Love Blog

Day 16:”Most people don’t know this but…”

This prompt was hard but easy to write about. I find it hard to open myself up and put my raw emotions and feelings out there but at the same time this was an easy post for me because I want people to know what I have been thought. If you read this post please don’t feel sorry or bad for me. I look at this event in my life as a speed bump and I am on to bigger andbetter things and I hope my Ex is also.

So I did mentioned this a few days ago but I will go into more detail today. Most people don’t know this about me and are usually SHOCKED when I tell my story about my divorce. I met a man while I was at camp after my sophomore year of college and we hit it off. I really liked him so we stayed in contact here and there. A few years later we started talking again on a more regular basis and really liked each other. (Or so I thought). We got married and became a family, he had an AWESOME son from a previous marriage. I loved life. I had a great family and thought God was really on my side. Before our one-year anniversary we decided that we would try to start a family. Near our one-year anniversary I found out we were expecting. We were both very excited. I then started spotting and went to the emergency room. While we were there they checked the baby and I both out and everything looked great. I went home and went about my daily life. At about 11-12 weeks I had an ultrasound scheduled. I went into the doctor’s office and they were unable to find a heart beat. I was crushed! I then had to call my mom because the doctor was asking if I wanted to let it miscarry naturally or if I wanted to have a D&C. I was so uneducated and was very scared of the unknown. I decided to have a D&C and shortly thereafter my husband of one year decided that because we had miscarried that we were just not meant to be. I share my story with other women around me so that if they are faced with the same decision that I was that they can then ask me questions. Since sharing my story I have had two close friends both miscarry and have seeked me out to talk and ask me for advice. God had a plan for my life and me. I am so thankful for the cards that have been dealt into my hand. I love life and I can’t wait to spend it with Mr. Right. Day Fourteen: When and Why Blogging

Brave Love Blog

Day 14: When did you start blogging and why?

Why did I start blogging? I was just getting into pinterest and had found several blogs in which I loved, read and followed on a regular basis. I figured that by starting a blog that I could show off all my crafting ideas along with everything new and exciting I was cooking. When I started my blog I was also teaching and was unable to find the balance between my blog and my everyday job. I found it hard to post on my blog on a regular basis. I love to teach but would like to one day earn some money and blog about my children. I am slowly making that happen. This year I decided to have a mentor that is a successful blogger. I have learned so much with my blog and also with my handmade business from my mentor. I have figured out how to schedule by blog along with working so that one doesn’t take the front seat over the other. I really love all the jobs that I do. I have BIG DREAMS for this blog!

Day Thirteen: Mr. Right

Brave Love Blog

Day 13: Your current relationship status. If dating/married, give us a glimpse of your story! If single, share about this special season.

I am currently happily engaged! I am going to give you a bit of the history and how we met. I was previously married for 1 year to a man I thought I was going to do life with. After some events in my life he decided to divorce me. I look back now and think what a blessing that divorce was. While going through my divorce I went and saw a counselor. While I was at the counselors I decided to write a list of everything I wanted in a man. I was dating off and on for about four years before I met Mr. Right. I decided that I would run the PF Chang’s half marathon and while I was practicing on Saturday mornings this AWESOME farmers market right by my parents house had opened up and I so badly wanted to shop there but by the time I was done running they were closing up. After finishing the half-marathon I decided I would get up early and go to the market it was a great time. Meanwhile at school I had befriended another teacher that had recently gone through a divorce also. After talking with her we put two and two together that her now fiancé is selling grass fed beef at the farmers market by my parents house. They were looking for someone to help sell beef once in a while so I offered to help. I LOVED going to the market on Saturday mornings and talking/selling to the locals. My birthday was coming up and I was putting together my own get together with some friends at a local brewery. I decided to invite the guy that ran the head table thinking that he and Mr. Right were either roommates or good friends I just invited one when Mr. Right came over to the grass fed beef tent and asked why I had not invited him. I then invited him and his friend! They came to my get together and ever since then we would either do date night dinner or hang out at his house. After meeting and dating Mr. Right I realized pretty quickly that he was everything that I wanted in a partner/husband for life. After a year of dating we decided to move in together and after three years of dating the timing was right that we would get engaged. The plan is that we will get married this year in a small ceremony and have a larger reception/open house with friends. He is my everything I can’t imagine doing life without him!

Dear Mr. Right,

Thank You for coming into my life. I LOVE spending my Sundays watching football with you. Seeing you with our sweet nephew makes my heart happy. I can’t wait for the day that you become a father to your own child. You are such a kind, loving and companionate man. I love that even though I tell you nothing is wrong when I am upset you know me so well that you continue to ask because you are able to read me so well. Thank you for always thinking of our future. You are the love of my life and I can’t wait to DO LIFE with you!

Your Other Half

Love and Peace
